Visceral Osteopathy

Visceral osteopathy is described as a manual treatment performed directly on the viscera with the goal to normalize the mobility dysfunction of the organ and try to eliminate fascial restrictions and relax the visceral spasms.

While Osteopaths predominantly work on the balance of muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons, Visceral Osteopaths also consider the movements and quality of internal organs (also called viscera: stomach, liver, intestines, lungs, etc..) to treat back, neck, shoulders, and legs problems. Visceral Osteopathy is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body.   A very good example would be when you deal with stressful situations. Often in those cases you develop a shallow breathing pattern. If the diaphragm is not moving correctly, the stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines will be affected. In the long term, it could lead to heartburn, hiatus hernia, stomach aches or digestives problems.  And further down the line, it could also lead to chronic back pain.

We have internationally certified Physiotherapist, who are trained in Visceral Osteopathy.

Manual Therapy

Also known as hands-on physical therapy. Therapists use only their hands while performing skilled, specific hands-on techniques. In general, manual therapy includes soft tissue work and mobilization/manipulation.

When performing soft tissue work, therapists apply pressure to the soft tissues of the body, such as the muscles. This pressure can help relax muscles, increase circulation, break up scar tissue, and reduce or eliminate soft tissue inflammation. With manual therapy, clinicians also commonly mobilize and manipulate joints. Mobilization techniques assist to reduce pain, correct joint mechanics and allow for early return to exercises and daily function.

Manual Therapy can be a helpful treatment for a wide range of issues, including: · Muscle spasms · Muscle tension · Low back pain · Neck pain and injuries · Hip, knee, ankle and foot problems · Hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder issues · Injuries caused by accidents · Work-related injuries · Mobilsation/Manipulation · Mckenzie Approach · Muscle Energy Techniques · Neurokinetic Therapy · Neurodynamics · Active Release Technique (ART) · Mulligan Technique / Mobilisation with Movement (MWM) · Myofascial Release (MFR) & Myofascial Chain Training · Positional Release Technique (PRT)

GOODHAB team has trained and experienced Physiotherapist in vast categories of manual therapy.

Pilates

“Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit”  – Joseph Pilates, creator of the Pilates method

Pilates is a method of physical and mental conditioning developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates. Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and well-being.

It utilities the mind-body connection and challenges the body to work in optimum movement patterns by implementing its 6 principles:

 · Centering · Control · Concentration · Breath · Precision · Flow

By following these principles the person becomes aware of their body allowing them to improve posture, rehabilitate from injury, and enhance sporting performance. Pilates is suitable for beginners through to elite sportspeople. Movements and intensity can be adapted easily to suit different body types or levels of fitness and experience, making it safe for everyone. In order to deliver the maximum benefit from Pilates practice, we tailor each program to the individual

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a therapeutic technique  for the treatment of pain and movement impairments. The technique uses a sterile "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle. The result of dry needling is pain relief and restoration of healthy physiology.

Dry Needling uses a small, solid filament needle which is inserted in a contracted painful knotted muscle to create a local twitch reflex which is both diagnostic and therapeutic as it is the first step in breaking the pain cycle as research shows will decrease muscle contraction, reduce chemical irritation, improve flexibility and decrease pain. That’s why this method is often used to treat sports injuries, muscle pain, and even fibromyalgia pain.

Dry Needling can be used to treat following conditions:

.Neck/Back Pain .Shoulder Pain .Tennis/Golfers Elbow .Headaches .Hip and Gluteal Pain .Knee Pain .Achilles Tendonitis/Tendonosis .Plantar Fasciitis .Sciatica  .Chronic Pain. MuscularStrains/Ligament Sprains .Athletic Performance .FDM .Night cramps .Phantom pain

At GOODHAB, We have certified and trained Dry Needling Practitioner.
